Before you can sit for the CMA exam you’ll need to join the IMA and enroll in the CMA program. You’ll also need to make sure you have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or an approved equivalent degree.
There is a professional requirement to become fully certified as a CMA (two continuous years of experience in management accounting or financial management) but this can be completed within up to seven years of passing the exam.
