A recent salary survey conducted in the UAE showed that 48% of employers felt that is was the

lack of niche technical experts that made it challenging to find skilled professionals. The survey

also found that Project Managers are in demand. So it would be fair to say that individuals with

a formal qualification in Project Management are sought after by employers.

Why choose the PMP?

1) It is a globally recognised qualification

Therefore it does not matter where you travel throughout the world, the qualification

will be recognised. Therefore it should enable working in other countries far easier.

2) Those with the PMP earn than those without

According the PMI salary survey, ‘Certifications such as PMI’s globally-recognized

Project Management Professional (PMP)® provide a significant advantage when it

comes to salary and earning potential. Among survey respondents, those with a PMP

certification garner a higher salary (20% higher on average) than those without a PMP

certification.

3) It shows your commitment to the profession

I strongly believe in the importance of professional certifications. They prove to

potential employers that you have professional commitment, and a minimum standard

of technical expertise.

4) Professional network

You will become part of a professional network which can provide many useful contacts.

5) Access to tools and techniques

You will learn the current best practice for project management standards and techniques.

6) You will be more employable

Many companies give preference to project managers with a professional qualification such as the PMP®

In summary

There are a multitude of reasons to undertake your PMP qualification. Above all else, it will

provide a sense of achievement and make you more marketable to employers. If you are
