Breaking news to all future CMA takers!

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA) has announced earlier this month that changes to the CMA exam will be implemented effective January 1, 2020.

If you are planning to earn your CMA certification within a year or so, you need to be aware of these changes and plan your journey accordingly.

Why the New Changes?;

Changes to the CMA exam are a result of a comprehensive job analysis study conducted by the ICMA. The CMA exam content was adjusted to help professionals remain relevant and current in an ever-evolving field especially considering all the technological advancements being integrated into almost every business like Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and much more.

The updated exam structure aims at equipping accounting and finance professionals with the proper knowledge, skills, and competencies that are necessary for today’s practice. According to the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), CMAs need to be "future-ready” and these changes will help get them there.

What Are Your Next Steps?

If you manage to finish the CMA exam in 2019, that is sitting for both parts by September/October 2019 testing window, then you do not have to worry about the 2020 changes.

However, if you couldn’t manage to complete both parts before 2020 then you have several options ahead and rest assured that Morgan will support you until you pass without having to incur additional costs.
